Services Guide for Customers with Disabilities

Welcome to Richmond International Airport (RIC)

Richmond International Airport is dedicated to providing all customers with a pleasant travel experience. To meet the needs of travelers, the airport provides services and facilities designed to assist passengers with disabilities throughout the terminal building. To assist our special needs travelers, Richmond International Airport provides the following equipment and services:

Parking Lots and Garages: Handicapped parking spaces are available in all on-airport parking facilities. Special elevated crosswalks and an elevator in the lobby of each floor of the parking garages provide assistance to the terminal building. Courtesy phones are located in the main lobby of the North and South garages and can be used for paging and assistance.

Economy Lots A, B and C provide courtesy shuttles to and from the terminal building. All EasyPark shuttles are wheelchair accessible.

Main Doors: All entry and exit doorways feature oversized automatic doors designed to allow for wheelchair access.

Wheelchairs: Elevated crosswalks are provided to assist passengers into the terminal building. Skycaps are available curbside and can provide wheelchairs and luggage assistance for special needs passengers. Passengers and guests are permitted to use Airport provided wheelchairs without the assistance of a Skycap.

Elevators: Elevators are conveniently located in the ticketing hall (2nd level) and next to the rental car counters (1st level), as well as in each parking garage.

Restrooms: All restrooms feature large door-less entryways for easy access and have at least one stall equipped for special needs passengers and guests.

Telephones: Wheelchair accessible pay phones are located throughout the terminal building. TTY phones are located on the first level near the escalators and on the second level near the ticketing counters.

Drinking Fountains: Drinking fountains are available throughout the terminal building and are at a level easily accessible from a wheelchair.

Gate Access: Passengers requiring assistance to or from the gate areas can be escorted by a skycap to their gate. Passengers should request this service when scheduling their flight. One family member may also meet a passenger at the gate after obtaining a gate pass from the airline ticket counter. For further information on this service, please contact your airline.

Courtesy Phones are located throughout the terminal building and in the lobby of the North and South garages. By dialing 3041 passengers can request wheelchair assistance.

For information on accessibility on board your flight, please contact your airline prior to your scheduled departure date.
