How Does TSA Pre✓™ Work?

  • The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has recently expanded participation in the TSA Pre✓™ program to Richmond International Airport (RIC).   This program allows participating flyers to experience a more efficient airport screening process by leaving on their shoes, light jackets and belts and leaving laptops and compliant liquids in carry-on bags.
  • In addition to Richmond, over 117 airports have dedicated TSA Pre✓™ lanes.
  • Eleven airlines participate in the program, including American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, and US Airways – all operating from RIC.
  • Interested parties are encouraged to pre-schedule appointments online. In addition, the center may be able to accommodate some walk-in traffic. For information, pre-enrollment, and scheduling, please visit:
  • IMPORTANT! In order to be eligible for TSA Pre✓™, customers will need to bring documentation proving identity and citizenship status. Visit for a complete list of required documents.
  • The application fee for TSA Pre✓™ enrollment is $85 and can be paid by credit card, money order, company check, or certified/cashier's check. Cash and personal checks are not accepted.

  • The enrollment center will be located on RIC’s Upper Level Ticketing Hall, adjacent to the JetBlue Airways ticket counter.
  • Hours of operation: 8AM-12noon, 1PM-5PM.
  • Parking: For non-traveling enrollees, please park in the airport parking decks, Hourly or Daily sections. Parking will be validated for same-day in-out visitors.
