South Garage Maintenance Advisory
November 28, 2011
RICHMOND, VA (November 28, 2011) - From now through the end of December, the original South Garage at Richmond International Airport (RIC) will be closed to inbound traffic due to scheduled maintenance and repair work. Maintenance activities will include sweeping and power washing interior floors, walls and ceilings, any necessary repairs to floors, ceilings, stairwells, and post-tension cables, and restriping/repainting parking spaces and traffic markings.
Similar maintenance activities in RIC's original North Garage have recently been completed and all parking levels are open to the public.
Due to recent expansions, airport customers will continue to enjoy the convenience of abundant (more than 5,000) parking spaces in the North Garage and North Garage Expansion, South Garage Expansion areas of the decks, as well as the newly-reopened Economy Lot B. When approaching RIC's parking garages, travelers are urged to watch for posted closure/detour signs.
Travelers are reminded that the airport offers a free Cell Phone Waiting Lot to assist with the pickup of arriving customers, as well as free parking in the Hourly section of the garages for stays of less than 60 minutes.
Richmond International Airport is the gateway for Virginia's Capital Region and offers about 180 daily flights on Air Canada, AirTran Airways, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue Airways, United Airlines, US Airways, Vision Airlines and their respective regional affiliates to major domestic and international destinations.
