Highest Monthly Total in the Airport’s 95+ Year History, Surpassing the Previous Record Established in Pre-Pandemic August 2019

At the June 2023 meeting of the Capital Region Airport Commission, Richmond International Airport (RIC) reported an all-time record of 431,416 passengers for May 2023, surpassing the previousrecord of 398,592 established in August 2019 by 8.2 percent. The 2023 total also represents a 15.9 percent increase over the same period a year ago.

"Achieving a milestone such as this would not be possible without incredible support from the traveling public and from our air carriers," said Capital Region Airport Commission president and CEO Perry J.
